The registration fee for academics is EUR 650*, which includes admission to all scientific sessions, accommodation and catering on-site.

The registration fee for industry is EUR 1000*.

Abstract submission

Once you have registered for the event, you can submit your abstract via the online form.

Two guided poster sessions, and a Young Investigator Award Session are offered, especially to the young research winners to present their work.

After the abstract submission has closed, your abstract will be sent for review by our panel of moderators. You will be notified of the outcome by email a few weeks before the event. Please note the notification email will be sent to the email given when you submitted your abstract.

All accepted abstracts will be made available for event delegates from 08:00 CEST on the first day of the conference.

Young Investigator Competition

We welcome abstract submissions for the Young Investigator Competition. Up to four abstracts will be selected to give an oral presentation during the Young Investigator Competition session on Tuesday 1 July. Applicants must be early career researchers, up to 5 years since their doctoral thesis (excluding career breaks). Complete the relevant section in the abstract submission form to include your abstract for consideration.

Abstract submission guidelines

Make sure your abstract is submitted on time and in the right format by following these simple steps:

Your abstract should be no more than 250 words and should be in English.
Keep your title concise and informative and only use capital letters for the beginning of a sentence or for an acronym/name.
Do not use CAPITAL LETTERS for your entire title.
The names of all authors associated with the abstract must be listed, and a presenting author must be identified.
All authors' names should be listed as initials and surname. Only the first letter of the surname should be capitalised, not the full surname (i.e. JR Smith, not JR SMITH).
Addresses should be in the following format: Group, Department/Institute, Organisation, Town/City, Postcode/Zip, Country.
Do not include acknowledgements in your abstracts – these will be included in your word count.
Select the subject area that best fits your abstract as this is a guide for reviewer allocation.
Please ensure that the email provided when submitting the abstract will still be valid in the lead up to and during the event as we will need to contact you about the outcome of your submission.

The conference is organised in cooperation with the Venice International University (VIU) located on the island San Servolo, 10 minutes by boat from Piazza San Marco. 30100 Venice (Italy). www.univiu.org.

WE RECOMMEND YOU PREBOOK THE VAPORETTO AS IT CAN BECOME VERY BUSY WITH VERY LONG WAITS TO BUY TICKETS

Vaporetto no. 20 (public transport) connects the island with the city centre. It departs from landing dock B at San Zaccaria, the waterfront adjacent to Piazza San Marco. Landing dock B is opposite the Londra Palace Hotel. Once in the island, you will find the reception just in front of the stop (maximum 5 meters). All the rooms of the hotel are distributed around the park of the island: the receptionists will gladly tell you how to reach them and how to move around the island.

The VIU is the venue of the conference, providing lecture rooms and exhibition space for the poster sessions. The accommodation on San Servolo is offered by the Metropolitan City of Venice.
